This Position: 

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for performing a full range of administrative human resources management services relating to performing clerical duties, greeting visitors, responding to customer inquiries, and serving as a coordinator for large training conferences.

Responsibilities: 
  • Perform administrative work, including scheduling, maintaining files and processing mail for the Human Resources department;
  • Provide clerical services including filing, sequencing, or maintaining log books/databases;
  • Enter employment data into computer database;
  • Provide reception services; meet and greets, scheduling, administrative support;
  • Coordinate logistics for new hire orientations and employee training sessions;
  • Help to develop position descriptions, classification of positions, advice on employee relations, and consult on performance management and staffing;
  • Provide advice on developing procedures in support of agency programs;
  • Measure program effectiveness vs. resources assigned;
  • Define program accomplishments and achievements;
  • Provide and coordinate training courses and programs, order supplies;
  • Assist officials who represent the HR community on committees and task forces;
  • Assist officials who interact, develop and build relationships with the HR internal and external communities within the Federal government as applicable;
  • Attend meetings, conferences, conference calls, and video-teleconferences.
Requirements: 
  • Three (3) years’ relevant work experience in the federal sector;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR with skills in organizing and supporting/completing office work assignments in the federal sector;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
