This Position:
The Human Resources Specialist III is responsible for performing a full range of technical and administrative human resources management services relating to benefits and retirement.
Responsibilities:
- Provide benefits and retirement counseling and assistance with required paperwork;
- Host and/or facilitate Retirement planning sessions and open season fairs;
- Conduct Benefits presentations for New Employee Orientation;
- Prepare service computation and retirement calculations;
- Provide VERA/VSIP and other workforce restructuring (RIF, Directed Reassignment) counseling and implementation support;
- Provide counseling and paperwork preparation, as well as process personnel actions for Death cases and Disability retirement cases;
- Prepare paperwork and provide counseling for FERCCA cases.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience performing similar work for the Federal Government
- Experience with Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS or CSRS-Offset) and the Federal Employees Retirement System
- Experience managing and processing benefits including, but not limited to: FEHB, HSA, TSP, FEDVIP, FLTCIP, FSAFEDS, and FEGLI
- Experience using Federal HR Navigator or similar system
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or equivalent field, preferred
